SCHOOL WORKSHOP - EARTHBOUND. Explore, Create, and Connect with Earthbound. Worms, Soil, Decay

Earthbound Workshop – Discovering the Living Soil

Earthbound is an art exhibition that invites students to better understand what happens beneath their feet. They will discover the importance of soil and its inhabitants—like earthworms—that help plants grow and recycle nature. Unfortunately, these little creatures are endangered by human activities, and it is essential to learn how to protect them.

After visiting the exhibition, students will explore the worm composting system (vermicompost), a natural process where earthworms transform waste into fertile soil. Bridderhaus has one, and children will have the chance to observe this vermicompost where real earthworms live.

Following this visit, the children will participate in a workshop led by artist Natalie Taylor, which will explore the potential of soil as an artistic medium. Using sieving and grinding techniques, we will create a palette of natural colors from soils and local earth to paint and draw.

We will also observe soil under the microscope to discover the tiny creatures that make it so rich.

This workshop will inspire children, develop their creativity, and offer a new perspective on the hidden life beneath their feet.

For primary school classes – cycles 2 to 4 and childcare centers - 6-12 years old.
