Luan Lamberty

Luan Lamberty’s practice lies at the intersection of painting and animation. His pictorial world, populated by everyday figures and spaces, explores social interactions, human relationships and unspoken truths.

As part of a Bridderhaus off-site residency at the Lycée Technique de Lallange, the artist will continue his research whilst engaging with the pupils and their environment. In particular, he will take the school’s code of conduct as his starting point, which sets out the rules of behaviour, rights and duties that contribute to a positive and supportive school environment. A Year 8 art class will play a key role in supporting the process through sessions of discussion, experimentation and co-creation. The residency will also form part of the school’s daily life, fostering encounters between the artist and the wider school community. The young people’s perspectives, experiences and imaginations will thus inform Luan Lamberty’s practice and contribute to the development of new works.

In collaboration with the Lallange Technical College.

This off-site residency draws inspiration from the ‘Résidences d’artistes en milieu scolaire' (Artist Residencies in Schools, RAMS) programme, which was developed by the Fondation Sommer. The programme aims to bring art and education closer together by placing artistic creation at the heart of school life. Through dialogue, the residencies create a space where ideas are born, questions arise, knowledge is shared in new ways, and new perspectives are collectively shaped. As the artist interacts with the school community, their experiences and viewpoints enrich the creative process.
